Schedule a Screening
Diabetic Charitable Services will hold a screening for your Corporation, Organization, Church, Hospital, Senior Citizen Center, Youth Group, or School.
Our screenings will provide people with early detection of type 2 diabetes in adults and children. As type 2 reaches epidemic proportions in today's youth, early detection is key to maintaining optimum health.
We also provide HbA1c testing with a stat reading within 5 minutes.
To schedule a screening please call our Charity Coordinator, Ann Torgusen at 888.813.7315 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org
We look forward to working with you. Together, we can help diabetics lead healthy and productive lives
About Diabetic Charitable Services
Diabetes is the 6th leading cause of death and is an epidemic and does not seem to be slowing down. Our focus has been to educate the younger population on weight, diet, and exercise. While diabetes is more likely adult onset, a federal study found that diabetes rates have increased in younger people. Another area that we are involved in is gestational diabetes. We follow these patients through pregnancy and each is given the essential testing supplies and referred to one of our medical partners for prenatal care. During the past 14 years we have screened over 20,000 patients for diabetes, hypertension, cholesterol, and body mass index. The free screenings were held in the under-served communities around Tampa Bay. DCS has also provided testing supplies to over 8,000 uninsured and under-served patients so they can monitor their blood glucose levels at home.
DCS does not receive any federal funding and we rely solely on fund-raisers. Without continued support from our communities our mission could not be fulfilled.
